Want something that will last until they’re a toddler? Look no further. Our online baby rocker selection also includes an infant to toddler rocker that’s perfect for some chill time.

Is a rocker good for a baby?

Rockers can be great for babies. A rocker is your little one’s very own chair in which they can sit and watch the world around them. Add some favourite toys too, and a rocker is even more fun. Of course, the rocking action can be a source of delight for many babies too – it can be wonderfully soothing, and can even help shift burps and other trapped wind.

To make the most of a rocker, it’s important to use it safely though. Make sure you have a rocker that’s suitable for the age of your baby, that you sit them in it properly, and that you monitor them whilst they’re enjoying their rocker time.

Are rockers safe for newborns?

Most of our rockers are safe for use with newborn babies. Newborns need to lie flat on their backs in beds and chairs to breathe properly and to make sure they grow and develop appropriately. Many of our rockers have multiple recline positions, including fully flat options that are ideal for newborns and younger babies.

All rockers, bouncers and baby swings are made for babies of a particular age and/or weight and this should be clearly stated in their details. Check carefully that a rocker you’re interested in is appropriate for the age or size of your little one before you buy it.

Can a baby sleep in a rocker all night?

No. Whilst rockers are safe places for your baby to sit and play and rock, they’re not designed for sleeping in. To make sure sleep is safe, your baby needs to nap and slumber in a dedicated baby bed, like a Moses basket, a cot bed or a bedside crib.

We know how well rockers can lull a tiring baby to sleep. And we know it’s not always easy to get our little ones to drift off. But if your baby does fall asleep in a rocker, don’t be tempted to leave them there – slip them out and carry them to their bed.
